Quick answer: for 1 to 2 people, a 4 to 5 litre single-basket air fryer of about 1,400 to 1,550 W is enough. A family of 4 to 6 is better served by a 6 litre basket or an oven-style model. For 6 people or more, or to cook a main and a side at the same time, choose a dual-basket model of 8 to 11 litres. If your home runs on a generator subscription, check the amps first: a 2,700 W dual-basket model draws about 12 amps on its own.
How big an air fryer do you need?
Capacity is the first decision. A basket that is too small means cooking in batches; one that is too big takes more counter space and more power than you need.
| Household | Capacity | Good fits at Hajjar Shop |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 people | 4 to 5 L | Tefal Easy Fry and Grill Precision (4.2 L), Tefal Easy Fry Max (5 L) |
| 3 to 5 people | 6 L, or an oven-style model | Braun MultiFry 5 2-in-1 (6 L), Tefal Easy Fry Oven and Grill (11 L, 9 functions) |
| 6 to 8 people | 8 to 11 L, dual basket | Tefal Dual Easy Fry (11 L), Braun TwinCook 5 (2 x 5 L), Dreame Tasti DZ30 (11 L) |
Single basket, dual basket or oven style?
Single basket models are the simplest and the most affordable. They suit snacks, chicken pieces and fries for a small household.
Dual basket models have two drawers that run separately, so you can cook potatoes in one and chicken or fish in the other, with different temperatures and times. Models such as the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone can finish both drawers at the same moment, which makes a full Sunday lunch much easier.
Oven style models open from the front and cook on racks. They take whole trays of kibbeh balls or vegetables and can also roast, grill and bake. The Tefal Easy Fry Oven and Grill combines nine functions in one machine.
If you like grilled meat, look at the Easy Fry and Grill range from Tefal, which adds a die-cast grill plate for chicken, kafta and vegetables with grill marks.
Power, amps and your generator subscription
Many homes in Lebanon share a limited number of amps on a generator subscription, so power matters as much as capacity. At 220 V, amps are roughly the wattage divided by 220. The heating element switches on and off once the air fryer reaches temperature, but plan for the full draw when it starts.
| Power | Approximate draw | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 1,400 W | about 6.4 A | Tefal Easy Fry Essential |
| 1,550 W | about 7 A | Tefal Easy Fry Classic, Easy Fry Max |
| 2,000 W | about 9 A | Braun MultiFry 5 2-in-1, Tefal Easy Fry Oven and Grill |
| 2,450 W | about 11 A | Braun TwinCook 5 |
| 2,700 W | about 12.3 A | Tefal Dual Easy Fry, Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone |
| 3,000 W | about 13.6 A | Dreame Tasti DZ30 |
On a 5 A subscription, an air fryer will only run on state electricity or a strong inverter. On 10 A, a single-basket model up to about 2,000 W is comfortable as long as the water heater and kettle are off. Dual-basket models of 2,700 W and above are best on 15 A or more.
Air fryer or deep fryer?
An air fryer cooks with hot air and needs a spoonful of oil or none at all, so it is easier to clean and lighter on the stomach. A deep fryer still gives the most traditional result for falafel or classic fries. If that is what you want, the Tefal OleoClean Semi-Professional holds 3.5 litres of oil and fries up to 1.2 kg of food at a time. You will find both types in our air and deep fryers category.
Features worth paying for
- Digital presets: one-touch programmes for fries, chicken, fish and baking take the guesswork out of times and temperatures.
- Two independent zones: worth it as soon as you regularly cook for more than four people.
- Grill function: useful if you cook meat often and want grill marks without lighting the barbecue.
- Non-stick, removable basket: makes daily cleaning a quick job.
Prices in Lebanon
At Hajjar Shop, air fryers start at $92 for the Tefal Easy Fry Essential and go up to about $250 for the Tefal Easy Fry and Grill Double (October 2026 prices). Most single-basket family models sit between $100 and $150, and dual-basket models between $185 and $230. See the current prices in the air fryer category or by brand: Tefal, Braun, Dreame.
Looking after your air fryer
- Let the basket cool, then wash it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid metal scourers on non-stick coatings.
- Do not overfill the basket. Food crisps evenly when hot air can move around it.
- Shake or turn the food halfway through cooking for an even colour.
- Leave space behind the appliance so the air outlet is not blocked.
Frequently asked questions
What size air fryer is best for a family of four?
A 6 litre basket, such as the Braun MultiFry 5 2-in-1, cooks a family portion of fries or chicken in one go. If you often cook a main and a side together, a dual-basket model of 8 to 11 litres is more practical.
Can I use an air fryer on a 5 amp generator subscription?
Not comfortably. Even the smallest models draw about 6 to 7 amps, so a 5 amp line will usually trip. Use the air fryer on state electricity, on a 10 amp line or higher, or with a suitable inverter.
Do air fryers need oil?
Fresh fries and vegetables crisp better with a teaspoon of oil. Frozen fries, nuggets and marinated chicken usually need none.
Is a dual-basket air fryer worth it?
Yes, if you cook for five or more or want to prepare two foods at different temperatures at the same time. For one or two people, a single basket is simpler and draws less power.
Do your air fryers come with a warranty?
Yes. Every air fryer from Hajjar Shop comes with a 1-year warranty, and our team in Zahle helps with after-sales service.
